Samsung Galaxy S27 series expected to feature larger batteries and 60W charging

Leaks and Chinese 3C certification filings have revealed significant battery and charging upgrades for Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S27 series. The flagship Galaxy S27 Ultra is expected to feature a substantial increase in battery capacity, with a rated capacity of 5,534 mAh, likely advertised as 5,700 mAh. This marks a notable departure from the 5,000 mAh capacity maintained since the Galaxy S21 Ultra.

The Galaxy S27 Pro is also slated for an upgrade, with a rated capacity of 5,087 mAh, which would be marketed as 5,200 mAh. Both the Ultra and Pro models are expected to support 60W wired charging. This represents a tiered charging strategy for the series, as the standard Galaxy S27 and S27 Plus are rumored to support 25W and 45W respectively.

Industry speculation suggests Samsung may be adopting silicon-carbon battery technology to achieve these higher capacities in a compact form factor. The new series is anticipated to launch in early 2027.
