Samsung Introduces AI Classroom Solutions at ISTELive 2026
Samsung announced a new line of AI‑powered classroom tools at the ISTELive 2026 education technology conference. The suite combines Samsung’s Android‑based Interactive Displays with a Samsung Account Management Solution that lets teachers sign in via QR code or NFC to automatically restore personal settings. Integrated features include a Samsung AI Assistant that can generate lesson summaries, create quizzes, search educational content, provide real‑time transcripts, and retrieve previous teaching materials, aiming to reduce repetitive tasks and increase classroom interaction.
A separate randomized trial conducted in Turkey examined the impact of a ChatGPT‑based AI teaching assistant on student outcomes. Researchers from the University of Pennsylvania followed 193 teachers and over 2,800 middle‑ and high‑school students. Over ten weeks, teachers using the AI tool to create lecture notes and assignments saw their students report lower motivation and enjoyment, and the students performed worse on standardized exams, especially when the teachers were already weaker instructors. The study suggests that reliance on AI for teaching material generation may diminish instructional quality.
