Samsung introduces Galaxy Smart Glasses with AI and Android XR
Samsung Electronics unveiled its Galaxy Smart Glasses at the Galaxy Unpacked event in London. The wearable, developed in partnership with eyewear designers Gentle Monster and Warby Parker, is positioned as a lightweight, premium‑style device for everyday use.
The glasses run on Android XR and integrate tightly with Galaxy smartphones, allowing users to see notifications, navigation, messaging and voice commands through the lenses. Samsung highlighted the AI capabilities powered by Google Gemini for conversational assistance and Samsung Bixby for device control, describing the product as an AI‑powered companion rather than a standalone headset.
Company officials said the glasses will launch at a “reasonable” price to broaden access to mixed‑reality hardware. "While AI is becoming agentic, the next step is to make it intuitive and context‑aware for each user," said Won‑Joon Choi, Chief Operating Officer of Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics.
