Samsung introduces new One UI 9.0 features and Galaxy optimizations

Samsung is introducing several new features and enhancements with the rollout of One UI 9.0. The update focuses on connectivity management, privacy, and user experience. Notable additions include advanced network settings that allow users to restrict internet access for specific browsers or games to save data and reduce distractions. The update also expands customization for Background Audio Hardening, a security mechanism supported by Android 17, offering three levels of protection: High, Medium, and Low.

For Bixby users, a new activation method allows the assistant to respond when the phone is held approximately 5cm from the mouth, without requiring voice commands or power button presses. This feature is currently appearing on new foldable devices. Additionally, new foldable models like the Galaxy Z Fold8, Z Fold8 Ultra, and Z Flip8 can now function as webcams for computers to improve video call quality.

Separately, Samsung Galaxy users can maximize device performance through various existing and hidden tools. These include using the Good Lock app's Sound Assistant to control music via volume keys, utilizing the 'Device care' menu to schedule automatic restarts for system optimization, and employing 'Voice Focus' to reduce background noise during calls.
