Lenovo, Samsung, and Dell launch new budget laptops to rival Apple

Major technology manufacturers are launching new budget-friendly laptop series to compete with Apple’s MacBook Neo.

Lenovo introduced the IdeaPad Vibe at IFA 2026, featuring a colorful design developed with the Pantone Color Institute. The series includes 14-inch and 15-inch models with options for AMD Ryzen AI or Qualcomm Snapdragon processors, and integrates the Lenovo Qira personal AI assistant across PCs, tablets, and Motorola wearables.

Samsung expanded its Galaxy Book6 lineup with a more accessible 14-inch model. Starting at approximately $799 or 849 euros, the device features an Intel Core 3 or 5 processor, up to 25 hours of battery life, and Galaxy AI integration. It is designed to bridge the gap between entry-level and premium models.

Dell unveiled the Dell 14S, an aluminum-chassis laptop aimed at students and young adults. The device offers up to 21 hours of battery life, Intel Core 5 or 7 Series 3 processors, and various color options including Dusty Rose and Velvet Green. It positions itself as a portable, high-value alternative to premium ultrabooks.
