Samsung Adds Stablecoins to Wallet and Launches Galaxy Credit Card
Samsung Electronics announced at its Galaxy Unpacked event in London on July 22, 2026 that the Samsung Wallet app will soon support native stablecoins, with a demo showing an account holding USDC. The company did not specify which stablecoins, launch dates or regional availability, but indicated the feature will be secured by the Samsung Knox platform.
Simultaneously Samsung introduced the Samsung Galaxy Card, its first proprietary credit card, issued by Barclays US Consumer Bank and operating on the Visa network. The card is available to U.S. consumers starting July 22, 2026, offering tiered cash‑back rewards—5 % on Samsung product purchases, 3 % on payments made through Samsung Wallet, 2 % on streaming services and 1 % on other spending—and a $200 bonus for users who spend $2,000 in the first 90 days.
The combined rollout aims to turn Samsung Wallet into a unified financial hub that blends payments, rewards, digital identity and, now, digital assets, extending Samsung’s fintech push that began with a 2025 partnership with Coinbase for cryptocurrency services.
