Samsung launches Galaxy S26 FE with One UI 9 and expands beta program

Samsung Electronics has launched the Galaxy S26 FE, the first device in the Galaxy S26 series to feature the One UI 9 interface based on Android 17. The smartphone is positioned as a premium-midrange option, featuring a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, a 4,900mAh battery with 45W fast charging, and an Exynos 2500 processor.

Key hardware and software highlights include an upgraded triple-camera system with a 50MP main sensor and 3x optical zoom, alongside advanced Galaxy AI tools. New features such as ‘My FanCam’ for automated video reframing, ‘Now Brief’ for personalized information cards, and ‘Now Nudge’ for contextual suggestions are central to the new software experience. The device also supports seven years of OS and security updates.

Simultaneously, Samsung is expanding its One UI 9 beta program. While initially limited to the Galaxy S26 series, recent test builds suggest the beta will soon extend to various other models, including the Galaxy S25, S24, and S23 series, as well as several Galaxy A-series devices and Galaxy Z Fold/Flip models. The software update aims to introduce enhanced customization, improved security tools, and more seamless multitasking capabilities.
