Samsung launches Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Watch 9 with AI health tools and 5‑year software support

Samsung announced its newest smartwatch lineup – the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch 9 – at the Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event. Both devices run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear Elite processor and will receive five years of Wear OS updates and security patches, extending software support to 2031.

The Ultra2 is geared toward extreme‑sports and diving enthusiasts. It houses an 800 mAh battery, 35 % larger than its predecessor, promising up to 60 hours of use. The 1.52‑inch Super AMOLED display can reach 5,000 nits brightness, and the titanium case is rated IP69K, IP68 and 10 ATM, with EN13319 certification for dives to 40 m. New health‑focused AI features – Energy Score, Wellness Tips, Trail Run insights and a Nutrition Alert – turn raw biometric data into proactive guidance.

The Galaxy Watch 9 targets everyday wear. It offers a 390 mAh (40 mm) or 445 mAh (44 mm) battery, a 3,000‑nit display, and the same Snapdragon Wear Elite chip. AI‑powered health functions mirror those of the Ultra2, providing sleep, heart‑rate and stress analysis. In India the Ultra2 is priced at ₹64,999 and the Watch 9 starts at ₹37,999 for the 40 mm model, with pre‑orders beginning 22 July and sales from 4 August.

Samsung also highlighted a partnership with diving equipment maker Mares for a dedicated dive app, and emphasized that the new watches are positioned as proactive health companions, moving users from reactive care to preventive insight.
