Samsung launches Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Watch9 with AI‑driven health features
Samsung Electronics unveiled its latest smartwatches, the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9, at the Galaxy Unpacked event in July 2026. Both devices run on the new Snapdragon Wear Elite platform and feature larger batteries—800 mAh for the Ultra2 and up to 445 mAh for the 44 mm Watch9—and brighter displays, with the Ultra2 reaching up to 5,000 nits and the Watch9 up to 3,000 nits. The line‑up adds AI‑powered health tools such as sleep‑apnea monitoring, Heart Health Score, Daily Cardio Load, hydration alerts and detailed biometric tracking via Samsung’s BioActive sensor suite.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra2 is built for extreme‑outdoor use: a 47 mm titanium case, 10 ATM pressure rating, IP69K water‑resistance, EN13319 diving certification, dual‑frequency GPS and a Trail Run mode that records elevation and terrain impact. The Galaxy Watch9 targets everyday wellness with a lighter aluminum body, all‑day comfort and continuous health monitoring. Samsung also promised five major OS upgrades and five years of security patches for the new models. The watches will be sold globally, with regional launch details announced for the Philippines, Japan, Morocco, Poland, Greece, Sweden, Taiwan and Spain, starting at roughly $379‑$387.
