Samsung launches Galaxy Z Fold8 amid Android malware warnings
Samsung has released the Galaxy Z Fold8, featuring redesigned proportions that make the device feel more like a standard compact phone when closed. The device includes a 5.5-inch external AMOLED display and a 7.6-inch internal AMOLED panel. While it offers improved ergonomics and a thinner profile, it maintains an IP48 rating for dust and water resistance.
Separately, cybersecurity firm ESET has issued a warning regarding malicious Android applications. Experts identified malware from the Hiddad family disguised as games, weather tools, and health apps, particularly affecting users in Poland, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia. Additionally, a variant known as Agent.FYA was discovered within modified versions of the Telegram messaging app, primarily impacting users in Germany, the Czech Republic, and Poland. Experts advise caution when using cracked or modded applications.
