Samsung launches 2026 Galaxy Z Fold8 and Flip8 series
Samsung has officially launched its 2026 Galaxy Z series, featuring the Galaxy Z Fold8, Z Flip8, and the premium Z Fold8 Ultra. The new lineup marks a strategic design shift for the Fold series, moving from a narrow, elongated form factor to a wider, shorter aspect ratio intended to resemble a passport for improved daily usability.
The Galaxy Z Fold8 series is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and incorporates "Flex Titanium" technology to improve structural rigidity and reduce the visibility of the central display crease. The flagship Z Fold8 Ultra distinguishes itself with an 8-inch main display and a 200MP primary camera system. The Z Flip8 remains the compact clamshell option in the lineup.
Consumer demand has been high, with pre-orders in South Korea reaching 1.44 million units, breaking previous records. To incentivize adoption, Samsung is offering a six-month subscription to Google AI Pro with the purchase of eligible models. The company has also committed to seven years of operating system and security updates for these devices.
