Samsung Galaxy Z8 series sees 30% surge in global pre-orders

Samsung has officially launched its eighth generation of Galaxy Z foldable smartphones, including the Galaxy Z Fold8, Z Fold8 Ultra, and Z Flip8. The new series has seen significant market traction, with global pre-orders increasing by over 30% compared to the Z7 series. In South Korea, the company recorded 1.44 million pre-orders for the new lineup during a seven-day period, with the Fold8 model accounting for approximately 70% of that demand.

The Galaxy Z Fold8 features a redesigned, wider form factor with a 10:16 cover screen and a 4:3 main display, weighing 201 grams. The Ultra model includes a 200-megapixel primary camera. To meet high demand, Samsung has reportedly increased production for the Fold8 series.

Looking ahead, reports suggest Samsung plans to significantly expand its foldable portfolio in 2027. The company is expected to launch five different models, potentially including a second wide-format foldable, a Galaxy Z Fold9, a Galaxy Z Flip9, and a second-generation Galaxy Z TriFold.
