Samsung rolls out Android 17‑based One UI 9, detailing supported and excluded Galaxy models

Samsung has begun testing its upcoming One UI 9 interface, which is built on Android 17. The rollout will start with flagship devices such as the Galaxy S26, S25 and the latest Z‑Fold and Z‑Flip series, followed by mid‑range models. A separate list shows which older Galaxy phones will not receive the One UI 9 update and will remain on One UI 8 with only limited security patches; this includes many S22, S21 FE, early Z‑Fold/Flip, and numerous A‑ and M‑series devices.

The testing phase has already reached the budget‑friendly Galaxy A24 4G, whose servers now host a build labeled A245FXXUCGZF4. Samsung expects the A24 to receive the final One UI 9 release in the autumn, after the flagship S26 line receives the beta. The company plans to debut One UI 9 on its new foldable flagship lineup at the Galaxy Unpacked event in July 2026.

Overall, the update marks Samsung’s continued commitment to delivering up to seven Android versions for its newest devices while phasing out older models that have completed their supported life‑cycle.
