Samsung Lions reach 70 wins after defeating Lotte Giants
The Samsung Lions secured an 8-5 victory against the Lotte Giants at Daegu Samsung Lions Park, extending their winning streak to seven games. With this win, Samsung became the first team in the KBO League to reach 70 wins this season, holding a record of 70 wins, 44 losses, and 3 draws.
Key performances included Kim Ji-chan, who recorded three hits and three RBIs, including a decisive three-run triple in the sixth inning. Starting pitcher Choi Won-tae earned the win after pitching six innings with 10 strikeouts and allowing only two runs. Closer Kim Jae-yoon secured his 31st save of the season.
Despite Samsung's momentum, the race for the regular season title remains tight. The KT Wiz are closely pursuing the lead, trailing Samsung by only 0.001 in winning percentage.
