Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra expected to feature 5,700 mAh battery
Samsung is expected to break a multi-year trend of stagnant battery capacities in its flagship Galaxy S Ultra series. According to recent 3C certification data from China, the upcoming Galaxy S27 Ultra is likely to feature a significantly larger battery compared to its predecessors.
While the Galaxy S Ultra series has utilized a 5,000 mAh battery since 2020, the S27 Ultra is projected to have a nominal capacity of 5,534 mAh, which typically translates to a commercial rating of approximately 5,700 mAh. Additionally, a Galaxy S27 Pro model may be introduced, featuring a capacity of roughly 5,200 mAh.
This capacity boost is expected to be supported by silicon-carbon (Si-C) battery technology, a method Samsung has previously utilized in its foldable devices to achieve higher energy density in smaller footprints. The new models are also anticipated to support 60W wired fast charging. These advancements aim to close the gap with Chinese competitors who have already integrated much larger batteries into their flagship smartphones.
