Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 Review and HKC Unveils 1300 Hz Monitor at ChinaJoy

Samsung's Odyssey OLED G8 gaming monitor was reviewed, highlighting its 4K resolution, 240 Hz refresh rate, 98 W USB‑C power delivery, and availability in 27‑inch and 32‑inch sizes starting at 21 490 CZK. Reviewers praised its color accuracy, design and connectivity, while noting the absence of built‑in speakers, lack of a Czech language menu and limited panel changes from the previous generation.

At the ChinaJoy 2026 exhibition, Chinese company HKC presented a prototype gaming monitor capable of a 1300 Hz refresh rate in a reduced‑resolution mode, as well as a 1000 Hz native panel using a 24.1‑inch Fast‑TN panel at 1920×1080. HKC also displayed a massive 12K ultrawide prototype, the Shield C83U60, featuring an 83.4‑inch curved screen with a 11520×2160 resolution, 60 Hz refresh rate and a 48:9 aspect ratio. The ultrawide is intended as a concept, with commercial release expected in China in late 2026 or early 2027.
