Samsung One UI 9: How to remove the Google search bar

The Samsung One UI 9 update, based on Android 17, introduces a fixed search bar located between the app grid and the dock on the home screen. This bar can feature Google search, Samsung Finder, or both, and remains visible across all home screen pages.

Users wishing to remove the bar can do so through the home screen settings. By performing a pinch gesture on the home screen, selecting 'Settings', and navigating to 'Show search on Home Screen', users can disable both the Google and Finder options. Once disabled, a page indicator occupies the space previously held by the bar.

Other notable features in the One UI 9 update include a customizable quick settings panel, wallpaper optimization for the lock screen clock, the 'My FanCam' video recording feature, and 'Now Nudge' for context-based recommendations. The update has debuted on Galaxy Z Fold 8, Z Fold 8 Ultra, and Z Flip 8, with the Galaxy S23 already receiving the update in Brazil.
