Samsung begins global One UI 9 rollout for Galaxy devices

Samsung has begun the global rollout of its One UI 9 interface, based on Android 17, for various Galaxy devices. The update is currently reaching flagship models including the Galaxy S24 series, Z Fold 6, and Z Flip 6, with gradual expansion into markets across Europe, India, and the United States.

Key features of One UI 9 include enhanced Galaxy AI capabilities such as ‘My FanCam’ for automatic video framing, ‘Now Nudge’ for contextual suggestions, and improved customization options through the Good Lock suite. The update also introduces new privacy indicators, such as a blue icon to signal when apps access location data.

However, the rollout has faced technical challenges. Some users, particularly those with the Galaxy A57, have reported critical errors where devices become stuck on an XML error screen during the setup process, preventing normal operation. Other reported issues include rapid battery drain and application instability. While some users have found temporary workarounds by booting into Safe Mode, Samsung is expected to release official software fixes to address these bugs.
