Samsung opens STEM competition for Filipino students
Samsung Electronics Philippines has opened entries for the 2026 edition of ‘Samsung Solve for Tomorrow’, a corporate social responsibility competition designed for Filipino STEM students. In partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd), the program invites students from Grades 8 to 10 in government-managed Science High Schools to develop technological solutions for community, social, or environmental challenges.
Participants can focus their proposals on three specific themes: Environmental Sustainability through Technology, Social Change through Tech and Sport, or Solving Community Problems with AI. Teams, consisting of up to four students and one teacher-adviser, must submit a STEM-focused proposal via PDF by November 2, 2026.
The competition offers nearly PhP2 million in total prizes for the top 10 teams and their schools. The grand prize includes PhP400,000 in devices for the school, PhP200,000 in devices for the students and teacher, PhP100,000 in cash for the team, and PhP30,000 in cash for the teacher. Shortlisted teams will be announced on November 16, 2026, and will receive coaching before the final judging on December 7.
