Samsung begins One UI 9 rollout for Galaxy S26 series

Samsung has begun the rollout of One UI 9, a new interface based on Android 17, starting with the Galaxy S26 series. While the update has reached some users in South Korea and via carriers like T-Mobile in the United States, the global expansion has faced some delays and staggered schedules.

The update introduces several new features and enhanced customization options, including a more flexible Quick Panel and the Samsung Finder search bar on the home screen. A major focus of the update is Galaxy AI, which includes tools such as My FanCam for video tracking, Now Nudge for contextual suggestions, and Now Brief for personalized information cards.

However, the availability of advanced Galaxy AI features is not uniform across all devices. Because many of these tools require specific hardware processing capabilities, some users may receive the One UI 9 system update without access to the full suite of AI functionalities. The rollout is expected to extend to the Galaxy S25 series, Z Fold 8, and Z Flip 8, with older models like the Galaxy S23 FE potentially receiving the update in October.
