Samsung rolls out One UI 9 beta 4 and previews July 22 Unpacked launch

Samsung has begun rolling out the fourth beta of its One UI 9 software to the Galaxy S26 series. The update, sized at about 1.25 GB, is first appearing in the United Kingdom, South Korea, India, Germany and Poland, with the United States expected to follow. It focuses on bug fixes – correcting lock‑screen clock scaling, Quick Panel sluggishness, navigation‑bar visibility, timer notification clipping and Routines automation – and incorporates the July 5 2026 Android security patch.

The One UI 9 beta program started in early May 2026 and is currently limited to the Galaxy S26 line, with plans to expand to other eligible devices later in the year. Samsung is slated to officially unveil One UI 9 at its Galaxy Unpacked event on July 22 2026, alongside the new foldable flagship devices Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8. A stable rollout is expected to begin in September 2026, starting with flagship models before reaching mid‑range phones, tablets and other Galaxy devices.

One UI 9 will run on Android 17 and introduces a suite of visual and functional changes: thicker brightness and volume sliders, redesigned media widgets with wave‑form animations, a modular Quick Settings panel, multi‑finger gesture support, and AI features such as “Ask AI” in the Samsung Internet browser. The Good Lock module Home Up receives version 18.0.0.24, adding automatic home‑screen rearrangement, custom Edge backgrounds, sticker actions and expanded multi‑gesture options. Samsung also updated its Good Guardians suite, including the Galaxy App Booster, to ensure app‑launch performance and battery stability on the new OS.
