Samsung prepares premium over-ear headphones with Galaxy Studio certification
Samsung is moving closer to re-entering the premium over-ear headphone market with a new device reportedly named Galaxy Studio. The product, identified by model number SM-U700, recently received certification from South Korea’s National Radio Research Agency (RRA) on October 23, 2026. This follows a previous certification from TÜV Rheinland.
While Samsung has not officially confirmed the product's launch date or full technical specifications, the certifications suggest a push into the high-end audio segment to compete with brands like Apple and Sony. The device is expected to feature advanced connectivity, potentially including Bluetooth 6.1 and support for codecs such as AAC, LC3, and the Samsung Seamless Codec UHQ for enhanced audio quality on Galaxy devices.
Expected features for the over-ear model include Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and an ambient sound mode. This development marks a significant shift for the company, which has focused primarily on its Galaxy Buds true wireless earbud line for over a decade.
