Samsung Galaxy A18 to launch with larger battery and upcoming 5G model

Samsung is preparing to release the Galaxy A18, a low‑cost smartphone that follows the design of the previous A‑series models but adds a slightly thicker chassis—about 0.34 mm more than the Galaxy A17—to accommodate a larger battery. The device features a 6.7‑inch Super‑AMOLED display with a 90 Hz refresh rate, a notch for the front camera, three rear cameras, and a side‑mounted fingerprint sensor. Two variants are expected: a 4G model powered by a MediaTek processor and a 5G version that will likely use a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6‑series chipset.

Mock‑up images released in Finland show the Galaxy A18 5G retaining the same dimensions (approximately 164.4 × 77.8 × 7.84 mm) and overall look as the A17, with only minor width and thickness adjustments. Samsung reportedly plans to produce up to five million units of the A18 by October 2026, positioning it as a key offering in the competitive budget‑smartphone market.
