Samsung prioritizes Galaxy Z Fold 8 production and lifestyle branding

Samsung is prioritizing its book-style foldable devices, planning to produce approximately 1.14 million foldable phones during October and November 2026. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 will lead this strategy, with an estimated 500,000 units, followed by 350,000 units of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. This distribution accounts for roughly 44% of the total planned production for that period, signaling a strategic shift toward the Fold series over the Flip series.

Initial sales for the Galaxy Z8 series have reportedly grown by 8% compared to the previous generation, according to Counterpoint Research. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 has also seen significant pre-order interest in South Korea, driven by its wider screen and improved portability.

In Brazil, Samsung is expanding the Galaxy Z Fold 8's reach through a lifestyle collaboration with the brand Água de Coco. The partnership features a beachwear collection inspired by the device's visual identity, utilizing exclusive tie-dye prints, gradients, and vibrant colors, including the signature purple of the Galaxy Z Fold 8. The collection will be showcased in seven Água de Coco concept stores across Brazil.
