Samsung raises European prices for new foldable phones as cheap flashlights go on sale
Samsung’s latest foldable smartphones and smartwatches will cost more in Europe. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 starts at €1,999 for the 256 GB model, while the top‑end 1 TB version rises to €2,799 – a €280 increase over the previous generation. The Z Fold 8 Ultra, Z Flip 8 and the Galaxy Watch 9 series also see price hikes of €100‑€180, which Samsung attributes to a global memory‑chip shortage that it, as a major chip producer, is also feeling.
At the same time, a compact Blukar Mini flashlight is being offered on Amazon for €11.97, a 25 % reduction from its usual price. Weighing only 59 g, the USB‑C‑rechargeable lamp provides spot, flood and red light modes, is IPX6‑rated and has earned a 4.8‑star rating from over 1,500 buyers.
Both items reflect contrasting price movements in the consumer electronics market – premium Samsung devices becoming more expensive, while budget accessories see discount promotions.
