Samsung reportedly developing ear-clip Galaxy Buds On with AI features

Leaked design documents suggest Samsung is developing its first ear-clip style earbuds, internally codenamed ‘Galaxy Buds Able’ and expected to be officially named ‘Galaxy Buds On’. Unlike traditional in-ear models, these devices will utilize an open ear-clip structure designed for all-day comfort.

A key feature of the new hardware is the integration of high-precision inertial measurement units (IMU) to enable head gesture controls. This allows users to perform actions such as answering calls by nodding or rejecting them by shaking their heads, providing a hands-free interaction method.

The earbuds are expected to feature deep integration with Samsung’s Bixby and Google Gemini AI assistants, positioning the device as a wearable AI interface. Additional features may include adaptive environmental noise adjustment, which automatically scales volume based on surrounding decibel levels, and a sleep-sensing mode that pauses media playback when the user falls asleep.
