Samsung has begun deploying its October 2026 security maintenance release (SMR) to a wide range of Galaxy devices. The update addresses a total of 83 vulnerabilities, including nine critical Android flaws.

Deployment started with flagship models in South Korea, including the Galaxy S26, S26+, S26 Ultra, and the S25 series. Foldable devices such as the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Z Fold 8, Z Flip 8, Z Fold 7, and Z Flip 7 are also receiving the patch. Older models, including the Galaxy S23 series and Galaxy Z Fold 5/Z Flip 5, are receiving the update via the One UI 9.0 software update.

In the United States, the Galaxy S21 FE has also begun receiving the October 2026 patch. This specific update addresses 76 security vulnerabilities to prevent unauthorized memory access and enhance data protection. As an older generation device, the S21 FE follows a quarterly update cadence and has reached its final major OS upgrade with Android 16-based One UI 8.
