Samsung rolls out One UI 9 beta for Galaxy S23 and new watch updates

Samsung has launched the One UI 9 beta for the Galaxy S23 series, including the S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra. The beta, which includes the August 2026 security patch, went live in India via the Samsung Members app. One UI 9 is based on Android 17.

While the Galaxy S24 also received a beta, testers have noted that the S23 version does not currently include new Galaxy AI features, with users requesting tools such as Audio Eraser.

Additionally, Samsung is introducing ‘Seamless Updates’ to the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2. This feature allows firmware to install in the background to minimize downtime during restarts. However, this capability is limited by hardware partitions, meaning older Galaxy Watch models will not receive this specific seamless update functionality even with One UI 9 Watch software.
