Samsung unveils Galaxy Glasses display‑free smart eyewear

Samsung announced two new display‑free smart glasses, dubbed Galaxy Glasses (also referred to as Intelligent Eyewear), at its Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event in London. The devices forego a visual screen and instead rely on open‑ear audio, a built‑in camera, voice commands, gestures and visual cues processed by Google’s Gemini AI model. They run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 platform and are designed in partnership with eyewear brands Gentle Monster and Warby Parker.

Battery life is claimed to reach up to nine hours on a single charge, with a charging case providing up to seven additional full charges. Full functionality requires a Samsung Galaxy smartphone and, for gesture control, a Galaxy Watch 9. Key features include real‑time translation, turn‑by‑turn navigation, hands‑free video calls, whiteboard capture and automatic note syncing to Samsung’s Notes app. Samsung positions the glasses as a competitor to Meta’s Ray‑Ban AI eyewear, with a commercial launch slated for fall 2026.
