Samsung schedules August 7 release for Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Ultra with new specs

Leaks indicate Samsung will announce the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Fold 8 Ultra on July 22, with sales beginning on August 7, likely starting in South Korea. The Fold 8 will feature a significantly wider inner display, while the Ultra model is expected to use thicker Ultra‑Thin‑Glass and offer modest improvements to the display panel and hinge durability. Pre‑order terms have been adjusted, and the devices aim to appeal to enterprise users seeking a stable foldable form factor.

Separately, images of the upcoming Galaxy Watch 9 have surfaced, showing a design largely unchanged from the Watch 8. The smartwatch will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear Elite chipset and offered in 40 mm and 44 mm sizes with distinct colour options. An LTE variant will be available, but there will be no 5G support.
