Samsung SDS hosts RX ART 2026 to advance industrial robotics
Samsung SDS held the ‘RX ART 2026’ (Robotics Transformation Advancing Robotics Together) event in Mountain View, California, from August 31 to September 1. The event brought together executives and leaders from various Samsung affiliates to discuss collaboration and identify common tasks for robotics integration in industrial settings.
During the event, Samsung SDS collaborated with global physical AI companies, including Walden Robotics and RoboForce, to verify use cases for robotics in real-world environments. The focus was on securing essential data for AI training and precisely testing the feasibility of robot deployment rather than simple technology demonstrations.
Specific applications included: - Using Walden Robotics’ general-purpose robots for component handling and consumable replacement at Samsung Electro-Mechanics and SEMES manufacturing sites. - Testing RoboForce’s physical AI-based ‘Robo-Labor’ technology for unstructured and harsh outdoor environments, such as shipbuilding and plant sites for Samsung Heavy Industries and Samsung E&A. - Implementing precision manipulation AI from startup G to automate delicate processes for Samsung Display.
Samsung SDS plans to transition these verified technical possibilities into field demonstrations at affiliate sites and expand these robotics use cases across various industries.
