Samsung SDS to build AI-native network for Seoul National University

Samsung SDS has secured a contract to implement a next-generation network platform for Seoul National University, aiming to create an ‘AI Native Campus’. The project involves a comprehensive upgrade of wired and wireless networks across 243 buildings to support approximately 50,000 students and faculty members.

The new infrastructure will feature 800Gbps-level ultra-high speed and high bandwidth to meet the massive data transmission requirements of AI research. Samsung SDS will utilize its experience in Software Defined Networking (SDN) to enable centralized control and automated network operations. This includes an automation portal for tasks such as IP address allocation and terminal registration.

To enhance security, the project will implement software-based logical network isolation. This will separate research, administrative, and educational networks to prevent security threats from spreading across different campus zones. The initiative is intended to serve as a global standard model for intelligent campus environments and digital transformation in higher education.
