Samsung SDS to provide high-performance GPUs for national AI research

Samsung SDS has been selected as a primary provider for the ‘2026 AI Research Computing Support Project,’ a government-backed initiative led by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Institute of Information & communications Technology Planning & Evaluation (IITP). The project aims to provide essential computing resources to domestic academic and research institutions that struggle to secure large-scale infrastructure for hyper-scale AI and Large Language Model (LLM) research.

With a project scale of approximately 15.3 billion won, Samsung SDS will provide high-performance computing resources, including NVIDIA H100 GPUs and the latest B300-based GPU clusters. These B300 units offer significantly improved performance and larger memory capacity for training and inference compared to previous generations.

Beyond hardware, Samsung SDS will offer a comprehensive environment including CPUs, memory, storage, and high-speed interconnect networks. This service is designed to allow researchers to focus on their studies by reducing the burden of infrastructure construction. The service, which began in late June, is scheduled to run through March of next year.
