Samsung Seoul Hospital ranked 4th in Newsweek's World's Best Smart Hospitals

Samsung Seoul Hospital has been ranked fourth globally in Newsweek and Statista’s ‘World's Best Smart Hospitals 2027’ evaluation. This represents an 11-place rise from its previous ranking of 15th. The hospital is the highest-ranked institution outside of the United States, following the Mayo Clinic (1st), Cleveland Clinic (2nd), and Mount Sinai Hospital (3rd). MD Anderson Cancer Center follows in fifth place.

The hospital was designated as an ‘AI Innovation Leader’ due to its strategic implementation and effective use of artificial intelligence. It also received a perfect score of 5 out of 5 in digital maturity, a distinction shared only with the Mayo Clinic among the top five hospitals. The Newsweek evaluation assessed seven key areas, including digital infrastructure, AI, robotics, automation, and governance.

Samsung Seoul Hospital has previously achieved top-tier ratings from the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) in several medical IT infrastructure categories. The hospital recently launched an AI Transformation (AX) task force and is currently operating a conversational AI system, with plans to integrate AI more deeply with medical information systems in the second half of the year.
