Samsung sets July 22 date for Galaxy Z Fold 8 launch, reveals camera specs

Samsung’s Samsung Members app in Malaysia inadvertently disclosed that the company’s Galaxy Unpacked event will take place on July 22. The event will introduce the next generation of foldables – the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Z Fold 8 Ultra, Z Flip 8 and a new Galaxy Watch – with promotional videos featuring everyday objects transforming into rectangular shapes.

Details of the Z Fold 8’s camera system have also surfaced. The device will retain a 200 MP primary sensor, add a 50 MP ultra‑wide lens borrowed from the Galaxy S25 Ultra, and upgrade the telephoto to a 12 MP unit with 3× optical zoom. Both front‑facing cameras remain 10 MP, and Samsung appears to abandon the under‑display camera seen on earlier folds.
