Samsung tests AI-powered custom widgets in One UI 9.5
Samsung is testing a new custom widget tool within early builds of its One UI 9.5 interface. The feature, referred to as ‘My Custom Widget’, appears to allow users to create personalized modular layouts by describing their desired functionality using natural language.
This capability likely leverages Google’s Gemini Intelligence, similar to the ‘Create My Widget’ feature announced by Google. The tool could enable users to combine different types of information, such as calendar events and messaging shortcuts, into a single tile. While early testing suggests the feature may initially focus on Samsung’s own applications, it represents a significant step toward highly customizable mobile interfaces.
