Samsung The Frame integrates digital art and energy efficiency

Samsung is positioning its The Frame television line as a fusion of technology and interior design. The series features an ‘Art Mode’ that allows the screen to display digital artworks from the Samsung Art Store, which includes licensed reproductions from museums and artists. To enhance the aesthetic, the displays utilize ‘Glare Free’ technology to reduce reflections and offer interchangeable frames.

In a recent collaboration in Madrid, designer Inés Martín Alcalde showcased five fashion designs inspired by the television's unique aesthetic. This partnership highlights the product's role as a decorative element rather than a traditional black screen.

Sustainability is a key component of the technology. The Art Mode consumes approximately 70% less energy than standard viewing modes. Additionally, the device includes smart sensors, such as a motion sensor that automatically turns the screen off when no one is present and a brightness sensor that adjusts the display based on ambient light levels.
