Samsung to equip Galaxy Z Flip 8 with Exynos or Snapdragon chips by market

Samsung plans to launch its upcoming foldable Galaxy Z Flip 8 with two different processors, depending on the region. According to a Korean insider report, the device will use Samsung's in‑house Exynos 2600 chip in markets such as Europe, India and South Korea, while Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 will be fitted for North American, Canadian, Chinese and Japanese markets.

The dual‑processor approach is intended to balance performance, production costs and pricing. The Exynos 2600 is built on a 2‑nanometer process and promises gains in energy efficiency and integrated features, whereas the Snapdragon chip is praised for high performance in gaming and multitasking. Aside from the chipset split, the Flip 8 is expected to be thinner and lighter than its predecessor, with no major changes to camera hardware, battery capacity or charging speed.
