Samsung to standardize Privacy Display on all Galaxy S27 models

South Korean smartphone maker Samsung plans to expand its hardware‑based Privacy Display, first seen on the Galaxy S26 Ultra, to the entire upcoming Galaxy S27 lineup. Industry source The Elec reports that all four variants – the base S27, S27 Plus, S27 Pro and S27 Ultra – will ship with the Flex Magic Pixel technology that narrows side‑viewing angles, making screen content unreadable from the side. The feature can be toggled on or off and configured per app or for specific on‑screen areas.

The move follows criticism of the S26 Ultra implementation, which showed reduced brightness and increased eye strain when active. Samsung aims to improve resolution, luminance and power use in the second‑generation panel slated for early 2027 launch. Market forecasts from SigmaIntel suggest about one million Privacy Display units were delivered in 2025, rising to 21 million in 2026 and 29 million in 2027. Competitors such as Xiaomi, Honor, Oppo and Vivo are also developing similar privacy screens. Samsung has not yet confirmed the plan publicly, but multiple regional reports echo the same expectation.
