Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra to feature record 5,700 mAh silicon‑carbon battery
Samsung Electronics plans to equip its upcoming flagship Galaxy S27 Ultra with a silicon‑carbon anode battery advertised at 5,700 mAh, with a nominal capacity of 5,534 mAh. A sibling model, the Galaxy S27 Pro, will carry a slightly smaller battery of roughly 5,087 mAh (typically presented as 5,200 mAh). The new cells raise capacity by about 700 mAh compared with the previous S26 Ultra, which topped out at 5,000 mAh, marking the first Samsung flag‑ship to exceed the 5,000‑mAh barrier since the S20 Ultra in 2020. Samsung says the silicon‑carbon technology allows the larger capacity without increasing the phones’ thickness or weight, an approach already used in the recently unveiled Galaxy Z Fold8, which also features a 5,000 mAh silicon‑carbon battery.
