Samsung adds Amazon Music as preinstalled app on Galaxy phones and tablets

Samsung announced a partnership with Amazon Music that will see the streaming service pre‑installed on a selection of its Galaxy smartphones and tablets. The app will appear in the Galaxy Store and be ready to use straight from the first setup, accompanied by a three‑month free trial of Amazon Music Unlimited for new subscribers. After the trial the subscription auto‑renews at $12.99 per month (or $11.99 for Amazon Prime members) unless cancelled.

The rollout is expected on upcoming high‑end models such as the Galaxy S26 series, Z Fold 8, Z Fold 8 Ultra and Z Flip 8, though Samsung has not confirmed the exact device list or launch dates. Users have expressed concerns about pre‑installed “bloatware” and whether the app can be fully uninstalled, a question that remains unanswered.

Samsung and Amazon Music highlighted the collaboration as a way to enhance the Galaxy experience. Samsung’s Izzet Asayas said, “We are constantly finding new ways to deliver special benefits and value for our Galaxy users.” Amazon Music’s Karolina Joynathsing added, “By pre‑installing Amazon Music on select Galaxy devices … we’re putting world‑class audio entertainment in customers’ hands from the very first moment.”
