Samsung memory price hikes may increase Apple iPhone costs in 2027

Samsung is implementing significant price increases for DRAM and NAND memory components, driven by surging demand from AI data centers. This shift is expected to tighten the supply of mobile memory components globally.

Apple has reportedly agreed to Samsung’s new pricing terms for the first quarter of 2027. Under this agreement, Apple will pay approximately $2.00 per Gb for LPDDR5X RAM and $0.33 per Gb for NAND flash memory. These rates represent a 30% to 40% increase compared to late 2026 levels. Consequently, analysts expect Apple to pass these increased production costs on to consumers, potentially leading to higher prices for iPhones, iPads, and Macs in 2027.

In contrast, Chinese manufacturers Oppo and vivo have reportedly refused Samsung’s new pricing terms, which may force them to seek alternative suppliers to maintain competitive pricing for their devices.
