Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Red Tint Issue Confirmed, Software Fix Planned

Samsung has officially acknowledged a red‑magenta tint that appears in the centre of the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s display, especially when the screen is set to maximum brightness under strong ambient light. The defect has been reported by users in several countries after weeks or months of use and is most noticeable on the Privacy Display panel. Samsung says the problem is not a hardware fault but a software error in the colour‑calibration algorithm, caused by the new OLED privacy technology. The company is developing an over‑the‑air software update to correct the colour balance, though no release date has been confirmed; industry sources suggest it may arrive with an August security patch. In the meantime, Samsung advises users to disable Privacy Display or reduce brightness to mitigate the effect, and to seek service if the issue persists.
