Samsung Unveils 8th‑Gen Galaxy Fold Lineup with New Wide Fold Model
Samsung Electronics released an eight‑second teaser on its global Instagram and YouTube channels ahead of the Galaxy Unpack event scheduled for 22 May in London. The video showed everyday objects to illustrate the shape and aspect ratio of the upcoming eighth‑generation foldable phones.
The lineup features the Galaxy Z Fold8, which is slimmer vertically and wider horizontally, adopting an approximate 4:3 screen ratio. Specs are expected to include a Snapdragon 8 Elite 5th‑gen processor, 12 GB RAM, up to 1 TB storage, a 4 800 mAh battery with 45 W wired charging, and a triple‑camera system headed by a 200 MP main sensor. Samsung also announced a new “wide fold” variant, expanding user choice within the foldable category. The company highlighted stronger AI integration across the devices, positioning the line‑up as a response to the AI‑driven mobile experience era.
