Samsung unveils 200MP ISOCELL HPC sensor with DeepPix and 16‑bit HDR
Samsung announced the ISOCELL HPC, a new 200‑megapixel image sensor designed for flagship smartphones. The sensor introduces the DeepPix pixel architecture, which raises full‑well capacity by about 60 % compared with the previous generation, improving dynamic range, reducing noise and enhancing low‑light performance. ISOCELL HPC supports single‑frame 16‑bit HDR across multiple zoom levels (1×, 1.5×, 2×, 3× and 4×) and can record 8K video at 30 fps and 4K video at up to 180 fps. It uses a 1/1.3‑inch format with 0.6 µm pixels, High Precision Microlens and High Transmittance ARL technologies to capture more light. Samsung says the sensor is already in mass production and will appear in upcoming high‑end devices from several brands, with the first implementations expected on Chinese flagship phones slated for September and potentially on future Galaxy S‑series models such as the S27 Ultra.
