Samsung to unveil Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Fold 8 Ultra at July 22 Unpacked event

Samsung will hold its Galaxy Unpacked conference on 22 July 2026 in London. The keynote will introduce the next‑generation foldable lineup, led by the Galaxy Z Fold 8, which is expected to feature a 4:3 inner display, Flex Titanium folding structure and three launch colours – Graphite, Cream and Lavender (with a possible online‑only pistachio edition). A wider‑screen variant dubbed the “Z Fold 8 Wide” will be the first foldable with a 4:3 aspect ratio, aiming for a more tablet‑like experience.

The premium Z Fold 8 Ultra is slated to ship with an 8‑inch inner panel, a 200 MP main camera, a 5 000 mAh battery and a starting price near €2 199 in Europe. Production targets released to suppliers indicate about 2.8 million units for the standard Z Fold 8, 2 million for the Ultra and 1.5 million for the Z Flip 8. Samsung also plans to reveal new Galaxy Watch 9 models, the Watch Ultra 2, and the next generation of Galaxy Glasses.

Pricing is expected to rise because of a global memory‑chip shortage, and Samsung has removed the “Free Double Storage” pre‑order bonus, replacing it with a 50 % discount on the price difference between 256 GB and 512 GB variants. The devices will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 1 TB of storage. The Flex Titanium technology, described in leaks as a “dual‑layer titanium alloy film and support plate,” is intended to reduce crease visibility and increase durability.
