Samsung unveils hidden smartphone diagnostic codes and revamps Galaxy Watch app

Samsung disclosed a set of hidden diagnostic codes that can be entered in the phone app to reveal firmware version, hardware details, battery status, IMEI number and other system information. These "secret" GSM codes such as *#1234# and *#06# provide users with deeper access to device diagnostics and service menus.

In parallel, Samsung announced a redesign of the Galaxy Wearable app for its smartwatches, scheduled for release with the Galaxy Watch 9 and Watch Ultra 2. The new interface adds a floating tab bar with sections for Watch Faces, Home and Settings, adopts a monochrome icon style, and displays the full watch image. Additional features include AI‑generated suggestion tiles, easier activation of the Gemini‑AI voice assistant, and quick access to notification and app settings.
