Samsung unveils new Galaxy Watch design and AI health features

Samsung is preparing to launch the next generation of its Galaxy Watch line. Leaked renderings show the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 adopting a more angular case with slimmer bezels and a subdued side button, while the Galaxy Watch 9 will drop the Classic version that featured a rotating bezel. The devices are expected to run on a new Snapdragon Wear Elite processor, include larger batteries for longer runtimes, and be offered in black, silver and beige. The company will continue to use Wear OS 5 on the watches, with the official unveiling slated for its Unpacked event in July.

In a separate announcement on 4 June, Samsung detailed a major update to its Samsung Health app, adding AI‑driven health insights for the Galaxy Watch. New features include a daily heart‑health score that combines sleep, stress, activity and body‑composition data, a cardio‑load calculator for smarter training, a fitness index that analyses heart‑rate and VO₂‑max metrics, and a hearing‑health monitor that assesses ambient noise. The update begins rolling out on 8 June to the first devices, and the upcoming Galaxy Watch models will incorporate these capabilities at launch.
