Samsung Wallet introduces QR code payments in South Africa

Samsung has introduced a new QR code payment feature called ‘Scan to Pay’ within its Samsung Wallet for Galaxy users in South Africa. Provided by EFT Corp, the service is designed to facilitate faster and more seamless in-store transactions by allowing users to scan QR codes instead of using physical cards.

The feature aims to reduce friction in everyday transactions and support the transition toward a cashless economy. EFT Corp’s Scan to Pay service already maintains more than 600,000 acceptance locations across South Africa and has over 19 million app inclusions across various banking, fintech, and financial service provider applications.
