Samsunspor denies involvement in TFF betting investigation
Samsunspor Futbol Kulübü A.Ş. has issued a formal denial regarding its alleged involvement in a betting investigation conducted by the Turkish Football Federation (TFF). The club clarified that seven individuals, listed in the TFF's referral to the Professional Football Disciplinary Board (PFDK) on September 30, 2026, have no administrative or official ties to the football company (A.Ş.).
Club President Yüksel Yıldırım emphasized the legal distinction between Samsunspor Futbol Kulübü A.Ş. and Samsunspor Kulübü Derneği. He stated that while the seven individuals were listed under the name 'Samsunspor,' they served as executives for the club's association (Derneği) rather than the professional football corporation.
Samsunspor filed an official application to the TFF on October 1, 2026, requesting a correction of the public record and a detailed investigation into the error. The club noted that the failure to distinguish between the two separate legal entities has unfairly linked the professional club to the betting probe and stated it reserves all legal rights regarding potential damages.
